This was our 2nd time playing Junior Tykes, the first time being our very first game of the season and with some game experience under our belts since, it was a good competitive game for both sides.
Junior Tykes took the early initiative and put us under some early pressure however were matched by some excellent goalkeeper saves by Eryn and Liaya. Our midfield battled hard with Harla and Neve, still very much new to games, getting stuck in and passing the ball around nicely.
Although up against it at times, again Charnock didn't stop running and the game was end to end football with shots, saves and last ditch defending from both teams which was fantastic to watch.
We got more into the game during the 2nd half with some amazing dribbling displays by Dece, Lainey and Neve and some extra found confidence by Leonie who made some amazing tackles, and got herself into some great positions in attack.
Laiya, Lainey and Eryn were great again, covering so much pitch whilst in attack and supporting with defence and Dece was on fine form with the ball at her feet, getting bumbled over but getting straight back up again.
Girl of the game this week goes to Harla, following some basic goalkeeper training last week, she stepped up and went in goal for the 2nd half and did amazingly well, pulling off some great saves and clearing danger when required.....well done!
Overall, another great team effort. The girls are growing in confidence and this is showing on the pitch with their performances.
Thanks again to the supporters and opposition for creating a positive environment and to the referee for their patience.
