Charnock Girls U11 Purples v Bramley Sunnyside Girls U11
KO @ 11:15am
After a pitch inspection the evening before the game was given the green light,
We were playing against a strong Bramley Sunnyside team who have been together since U9s and as said before this is going to be a steep learning curve for our girls who, as a team, this was only their 3rd game together.
It was a cold wet morning and we welcomed Lola and had 9 available, with only Amber and Leonie missing.
Sophia was todays captain. We are trying to get the girls to communicate more on the pitch as a team and help each other out, in moments we see this but in other moments the girls stopping and having a conversation on the pitch while the game is still going on isn’t what we mean 😀😀 😀 but it is a work in progress.
Kate – played 1st half in goal and you can see how she is improving as a keeper using her body and making herself big to put strikers off is really coming on. In the 2nd half Kate played out and is really showing her strength on the ball holding it up and laying it off is Kates strong point of her game.
Sophia – great energy and never stops running, played in goal 2nd half and again can see the extra keeper training is paying off, not afraid to throw herself on the floor and aware of what is around her.
Neiva – we tried Neiva at the back today as she has an awareness off what’s around her and speed to keep up with players and put the striker off.
Grace – partnered Neiva at the back, again gets stuck in and never gave up and kept going.
Tamzin – Tamzin is really growing in confidence game by game and is becoming a strong player, some great defending from corners and a couple of strong runs with the ball.
Lola – great to have her back, strong performance got stuck in and only took a quick break after been hit in the chest with the ball.
Maisie – solid in the middle, got stuck in, strong on the ball can really see she is taking in what we are working on in training.
Charlotte – one of our more experienced girls, yet still playing up at U11s but not afraid to get stuck in and run with the ball.
Eden – covered everywhere on the pitch today strong covering back and always willing to take the ball and push forward didn’t stop running all game.
The girls did really well today and you could see them improve as the game went on, as we continue to work on things in training then we will continue to improve.
Thanks to all the parents that helped today with setting up the pitch and doing the tuck shop and raffle, it is a big help and raises extra funds for the club.
Next week we are at home again so keep an eye out for details.
