This summer, 300 magnificent lion sculptures – including 150 community-created cubs – have roared into locations across South Yorkshire to celebrate 150 years of Sheffield Children's Hospital. More than just a fantastic family trail, every lion helps raise vital funds to transform the hospital's Emergency Department into a calmer, more welcoming space for children and young people when they need it most.
We're incredibly proud that Charnock Ridgeway Women & Girls FC is part of this amazing campaign.
Meet Charnie – our very own lion cub! Even more special, our players rolled up their sleeves and helped bring Charnie to life by adding their own signatures, making the cub a lasting symbol of our club, our community and our commitment to supporting Sheffield Children's Hospital.
If you're following the trail, be sure to pay Charnie a visit. You'll find our cub proudly waiting in the reception area at Ponds Forge Leisure Centre, ready for a selfie or two!
Whether you're aiming to find every lion or simply exploring a few local locations, the Pride of Yorkshire trail is a brilliant way to discover South Yorkshire, celebrate local creativity and support a truly incredible cause.
So, have you found Charnie yet? If not, add Ponds Forge to your trail and come and say hello!
Happy hunting – and don't forget to share your Charnie selfies with us on social media!
