About the club

Welcome to Charnock Ridgeway Women & Girls FC.

The girls section of our club was set up in April 2016 with the help of an awards for all grant from a Big Lottery Fund, set up by Charlotte & Rachel who are both very passionate about girls being involved in football.
We have just moved on to our new pitches to allow us to grow, manage our own future having spent a few years at Springs Academy.
We play games at a variety of pitches at Herdings Park, Charnock Rec and Hemsworth Road - our Winter training is staying at Springs Academy for the 2025/26 season.

Heading into the new season, we offer; U8s, U9s, U10s, U11s, U12s, U13s, U14s, U15s, U18s and Open Age as well as Wildcats sessions on Mondays and Tuesday evenings across the local area.

It is an absolute commitment of our club that no child is ever excluded from playing football for reasons of gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or perceived ability as a footballer. We strongly believe that football is a game to be played and enjoyed by everyone and our success to date is not measured by the trophies we win, but by the number of children who chose to play for and remain at Charnock Ridgeway FC throughout their childhood.

We have just celebrated our 8 year birthday and now offer over 250 girls and women the chance to play football on a regular basis.

The girls section is organised by a committee which consists of: a Chair Person, Secretary, Treasurer and Welfare Officers. Also within the team we have social media champions, match day managers (set up/ set down equipment), and a fundraising group.

We have lots of help from various other parents who do tasks like running our tuck shops, setting up the pitch, organising the raffle and bringing their daughters to training and matches come rain or shine!
